National Art School
Since 1833, and as the longest continuing public art school in Australia, National Art School (NAS), is an independent visual arts institution dedicated to providing a rigorous and comprehensive education for aspiring artists. Based in New South Wales, NAS has almost 400 full time students from across Australia. NAS’ success in producing high calibre contemporary visual artists can be attributed to the tradition and skills of its intensive and systemic studio-based teaching in small, intensive classes. Specifically, via the exploration of ideas through drawing, and by reference to art history and theory.
